COVID-19 Educational Awareness 2020 To Distribute 1 Million Free Masks

Two Ghanaian Entrepreneurial bodies, VODEC Africa and Future Africa Institute have collaborated to form "COVID-19 EDUCATIONAL AWARENESS 2020",  a coalition against the spread of the global pandemic. The Covid-19 Educational Awareness 2020 will kick start a sensitization campaign on the coronavirus pandemic in specific markets and communities in Ghana starting from Accra, Kumasi and Takoradi, to keep citizens more Informed to protect themselves from the disease.

The COVID-19 Educational Awareness 2020 led by Daniel Asomani, Founder and CEO of VODEC Africa and HRH Prince Duke Kesse-Adu Gyamfi Danquah IV, President and CEO of Future Africa Institute has partnered with Kenzy Designs, a fashion accessory firm, to also launch "Operation Free One Million Locally Made Nose Mask Distribution" to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The drive is aimed at manufacturing and distributing free locally made nose masks to market women, health facilities, and the vulnerable in society.

Mr Daniel Asomani, CEO of VODEC Africa who doubles as the SRC President of Pentecost University College, who briefed the media on Saturday, explained that the collaboration between the two entrepreneurial entities, would ensure the education and distribution of free non-medical nose masks to market women, health facilities and the vulnerable groups in the country to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.

The President of Future Africa Institute and the Prince, who hails from the Okyeman Royal Kingdom of Ghana, Duke Kesse-Adu Gyamfi Danquah IV, says the pandemic, which poses a health threat to every citizen, cannot be left to government alone, hence the decision by Future Africa Institute and VODEC Africa to support the public education campaign.

The VODEC Africa and Future Africa Institute COVID-19 Educational Awareness 2020 is thus expected to complement the efforts of the UN World Health Organization, efforts of the Office of the President of Ghana, Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Information in the fight against the spread of the coronavirus pandemic through education and preventive measures such as nose masks.
